Key Collaborations	Exceptional Programs	Groundbreaking Research
HAI partners with a wide range of government programs private corporations, and nongovernmental organizations, to develop research and educational initiatives that advance the understanding and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Training international scientists and health professionals helps produce a cadre of HIV/AIDS experts to facilitate and lead the development of healthcare strategies and interventions that will benefit individuals, families, and societies in resource-scarce areas. Current research focus on the HIV subtype most prominent in Africa, HIV-1C, and include HIV vaccines, antiretroviral treatment, and new interventions to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission.
