Founded in 1636, Harvard University is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. It has educated seven presidents of the United States, and its faculty has produced more than forty Nobel laureates. Today Harvard has an enrollment of more than 20,000 degree candidates. Including HSPH, the university has ten graduate and professional schools. Its ninety individual collections constitute the largest academic library in the world.
