Fellowship in Cancer Prevention Control
The Harvard School of Public Health's Departments of Society, Human Development and Health; Epidemiology; Nutrition; and the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Population Sciences invite applications for a joint fellowship in cancer prevention and control. The following fellowships are available September 2008: post-doctorate research (non-degree), post-doctorate research for M.D.'s obtaining a degree (MS, MPH) with a research focus, and pre-doctoral degree. The program's objective is to train researchers in the design and evaluation of cancer prevention and control. Applicants may work in any area related to cancer prevention. Potential areas of research include health care providers, worksites, schools or youth, or under-served populations, in addition to prevention policy. Applicants for the post-doctoral position must have a doctoral degree in the social and behavioral sciences (e.g. sociology, psychology, economics); epidemiology; biostatistics; decision sciences; nutrition; nursing; genetics; education; or related fields, or with M.D. degrees. The postdoctoral research fellowships are funded for two to three years and do not result in a degree. Applicants for a degree program must complete separate applications to the Harvard School of Public Health's Admissions Office and to the Cancer Prevention Program. Underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply. To be eligible, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. The Harvey Fineberg Fellowship, in cancer prevention, is also available and is not restricted to U.S. citizens.
