Am I Eligible to Apply for the MPH?
Eligible Applicants for the MPH Program should:
- Be a health professional who is preparing for advancement in an organization or transition into public health.
- Hold
a doctoral degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in medicine, dentistry,
veterinary medicine, law, or other fields related to public health or a
prior master’s degree in a health related field and have 3 years of experience
following completion of the master’s.
- Doctoral
Degree Applicants
- Accepted degrees include: DMD, DDS, JD, MD, PharmD, PhD, DPM, OD, DO, ScD, DVM, MBBS, MBBCh. Please contact the MPH Program Office for questions on other doctoral degrees.
- Master’s
Degree Applicants
- Accepted degrees include: MSN, MSW, MBA, SM, etc. Please contact the MPH Program Office for questions regarding other master’s degrees.
- Applicants who hold a master’s degree should also have at least three to five years of health-related work experience.

Preference is given to applicants with clearly identified career goals relevant to the program and who demonstrate a strong academic background.
