Focus On: Tobacco Control Research Program
4 of the 10 articles on tobacco research are authored by the Division's Tobacco Control Research Program's scientists and researchers in a recent special edition of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. Of note is the article "Assessing Consumer Responses to Potential Reduced-Exposure Tobacco Products: A Review of Tobacco Industry and Independent Research Methods" addressing industry research on consumer response to product development and marketing strategies in accord with consumers' sensory and subjective responses to product characteristics. Dr. Jim O'Connell was recently named the JH Kanter Prize Laureate for exceptional health care delivery and for for his exceptional work to enhance health care delivery for hundreds of low income and homeless people in Boston. Dr. O'Connell joined the Division in 2009 and is a founder, President, and street physician at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. More
