Student practice is an essential component in the training of public
health practitioners. Thus the Division works closely with the Office
for Educational Programs to support practicum placement opportunities
for students obtaining an MPH degree and also to create, support, and
recognize additional practice opportunities or experiences for HSPH
students in all degree programs.
Additional practice experiences
include the Division's annual Agency Information Fair, supporting the
Student Advisory Committee which has oversight of small student
brown-bag seminars devoted to practice, collaborating with the Division Advisory Council subcommittee on Practice, helping to create and foster
mentor relationships, and support of the Gareth M. Green Prize for
Excellence in Public Health Practice and the James H. Ware Award for
Achievement in the Practice of Public Health.
