Summer Session for Public Health Studies

Admission Information

Application Requirements

All Summer-only MPH degree applicants must complete the sophas.org application and a separate Summer Session application.  The application for admission to the MPH degree program requires:

  • a statement of purpose
  • a curriculum vitae
  • three letters of recommendation
  • official transcripts
  • GRE scores (other specific tests may be substituted under certain circumstances)

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for applicants living in countries where English is not the language of instruction. Minimum scores of 587 on the paper-based test or 240 on the computer-based test are required, but competitive applicants generally submit higher scores (600 for the paper-based test or 240 for the computer-based test). The minimum score accepted for the IBT TOEFL is 83.

Please note: For non-degree students enrolled in summer courses, successful completion of courses in the summer does not guarantee admission to the School’s degree programs.

Deadline Information

Please note: Students applying to the Summer-only MPH program must complete the same application requirements and observe the same deadlines as all applicants to the School.  Admitted students must register separately for the Summer Session or the Program in Clinical Effectiveness by the appropriate deadline in order to indicate course choices.
