Graduate Record Examination
Except as specified below, all applicants to Harvard School of Public Health are required to submit official scores for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The Educational Testing Service (ETS) reports scores from tests taken after October 1, 1985, for five years. If you took the GRE more than five years ago, you will need to retake the exam. If you took the GRE between October 1, 1972, and September 30, 1985, ETS will officially report your scores for up to 20 years. Please report your GRE scores to code 3456 for Harvard School of Public Health. We will not release these scores to SOPHAS. Even though we do not have a minimum GRE score requirement, we do look for strong quantitative, verbal, and analytical writing ability. Many successful candidates typically score above 650 in the quantitative section of the GRE. Nevertheless, please note that applications are evaluated in their entirety.
