Crimson Compass

Crimson Compass is an online career networking service available to students and alumni interested in learning about career and/or internship opportunities. Crimson Compass provides you with the contacts that enable you to store comments on each of your contacts and shares helpful tips on successful networking. Currently, there are 15,271 alumni volunteering to share their professional experiences and expertise with students and alumni. So when you are looking for career information or wanting to network with a Harvard alumni, Crimson Compass provides you with the connections you need.

  1. The first time you access CRIMSON COMPASS follow Registration Directions. On the right hand side of the Home Page, there is an area to log-in. If you have not yet registered click on the link that says "Click here to Register," located under "Member Login" tab.
  2. To identify Career Advisors select "Search for Career Advisor" at bottom of page.
  3. On the Search Page, there are various search criteria. It is suggested that you keep to a general search to get the best results. It should also be noted that very different results come from each search. Try a variety of searches!
  4. The Search Results will display basic information for the alumni advisor–Name, Job Title, Employer, and School/Year. Remember the entire Harvard Community is included in CRIMSON COMPASS .
  5. Click on one profile that interests you. Under the Contact Information Section is the information that should be used to contact the alumni. There will be a link, "Send an email to this person" if the alumni has provided his/her address. (If not provided they DO NOT want you to email them). Scrolling further down the Profile offers detailed information about advice offered, job specifics, and academic information.
  6. To add the profile to the contact list, click on the link at the top "Add This Profile to Contact List."
  7. You can do as many searches as you want per day, but you can only access 100 alumni records per day.
