Harvard ID Card and PIN
Harvard identification cards are issued to all academic appointees. A Harvard ID number and/or ID card is needed to obtain library privileges (including on-line resources), to use iCommons, to gain access to athletic facilities and museums, to use the Harvard Housing Office, to receive event discounts, etc. As soon as the university's Payroll Office has completed processing the paperwork for a new academic appointment, the appointee can go to the HSPH ID Office (in the back of the Kresge cafeteria) to have his or her photograph taken for the ID card.
The Cambridge ID Office is located in Room 340 of the Holyoke Center and can be reached by calling 617-495-3322.
Once a Harvard ID number has been issued, new research scientists should register for a Personal Identification Number (PIN). On-line university systems and records require use of a PIN. More information and PIN registration is available at www.pin.harvard.edu
