Managing During Times of Uncertainty

Managing During Times of Uncertainty

This is a time of change, uncertainty and anxiety.  There are daily reports on the global economic crisis, and its impact on every sector - and every person - in the country.  Institutions are grappling with shrinking endowments and adjusting revenue projections.  As a manager you are caught in the middle. You may have a lot, some or virtually no input in how the current uncertainty impacts your organization.  Yet, you have a responsibility to keep your organization functioning effectively.  You also have your own feelings and concerns to contend with-as do your employees. The key to dealing with uncertainty is recognizing it as an aspect of "change", knowledge of the change process, and how people react to change.
