At Harvard School of Public Health, our employees are our richest resource. Whether you are working in an academic department, one of the centers, or in administration, you are integral to HSPH's success. Individually, your passion, professionalism, and commitment to our mission are vital to HSPH's standing as a world-class research and teaching institution. And as teammates and colleagues, your collaboration and connections with others are what make HSPH a rewarding workplace and a welcoming community.

Employee rewards and recognition can be generated by your peers, your manager, or by HSPH management. ROAR encompasses the following:

Beyond the Call recognizes those who go "that extra mile" in any of a number of ways. Once a quarter, Chief Operating Officer Paul Riccardi walks the halls of HSPH delivering an appreciation certificate and gift from Dean Julio Frenk. Anyone may nominate a fellow member of the HSHP community for this award through the on-line Recognition Award Nomination Form.

Service Awards include an Annual Appreciation Event, Celebration With the Stars, for those celebrating milestone anniversaries at HSPH and a special University-wide ceremony for those who have achieved 25 years of service at the University.

Lunch on Us rewards employees who lend a helping hand to others. If a Senior Staff member catches you doing something good, you may be handed, on the spot, a card good for up to $7.50 towards lunch at Fresh City (Landmark Center) or Sebastian's Café (Kresge Building).

UMatter features the summertime treat, Scoopfest, where we all get together to enjoy ice cream served up by HSPH senior leaders clad in hats, sunglasses, and aprons. UMatter also features an annual luncheon ceremony honoring staff members who have completed a degree program during the year. Click here to read about last year's luncheon celebration.
