Beyond the Call is a peer-to-peer award. Any staff and faculty can nominate a staff or faculty member for going consistently beyond the call of their job responsibilities. Once a quarter, Paul Riccardi, Chief Operating Officer walks the halls of HSPH delivering balloons and $100 gift certificates. Recipients also receive a recognition letter from the Chief Operating Officer and some "highlights" from the submitted nomination.

The types of achievements to be recognized in this program should be clearly and consistently above and beyond the typical day-to-day employee responsibilities. The achievement should demonstrate one or more of the following characteristics:

• Volunteer effort or dedication to specific programs or annual events within the school
• Personal self-sacrifice or unexpectedly high performance that falls outside an employee's assigned responsibilities
• A consistent and positive attitude or set of efforts that contribute to the well being of the school community

Nominate an Employee 

Criteria: HSPH staff and faculty may nominate members of the HSPH community using the on-line Recognition Award Nomination form. The Recognition Award Committee will review all nominations.

Process: Nominations must include specific examples of what the nominee has done and why the nominator would like to recognize them. Nominations should be specific and elaborate on the nominee's actions and the impact of those actions.

The Beyond the Call Committee reviews the nominations at the end of each quarter.  Special consideration is given when there are multiple nominations for the same person and for efforts toward our sustainability and green initiatives. Recipients are allowed only one award per fiscal year.
