Training & Career Development

The HSPH Human Resources Office offers a variety of skills training and career development programs throughout the year. Our goal is to insure that staff have the skills needed to do their jobs as well as have opportunities for growth and development. 

  • We offer in-house programs on a variety of topics related to supervision/management, communication, increasing productivity, career development, writing and negotiation.
  • We offer free computer training for HSPH staff in various applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet and Web Development classes for in-house webmasters. 

 

Career Development Opportunities in the LMA

The Center for Workplace Development (CWD) in Cambridge and in the Longwood Medical Area provides all Harvard employees with a university-wide career and professional development curriculum. This partnership will ensures a consistent set of learning and development opportunities for all employees and expanded course offerings to include sessions in the LMA.

 

Training Needs Assessment

We are available to work with individual staff members and departments to identify learning needs and customize specific training programs to address those needs. Examples of work we have done with specific departments and individuals include: customer service training, delivering difficult feedback, preventing workplace harassment, and increasing team performance.
