Smartphone / PDA Support
The HSPH IT Department supports the use of PDAs or Smart Phones to synchronize with your Novell Groupwise account.
We fully support the following devices:
- Blackberry devices (requires Enterprise Data Plan from your carrier)
- Apple Iphone (on AT&T network only)
Full support includes email, calendar, and contact syncing. There are other additional syncing options on Blackberry devices.
In order to fully sync your device, you will need to purchase an additional software license from the IT Department depending upon the device that you choose. Blackberry devices utilize Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES), whereas the Apple Iphone utilize NotifyLink. Both products are approximately $150/year.
Limited support:
Additionally, HSPH IT Office offers limited support for other devices by providing IMAP over SSL settings. With these settings, users can configure their phone/PDA and receive email.
