Student Goverment at HSPH (formerly known as the SCC)
The Student Government (HSPHSG) is the centralized student organization that acts on behalf of all the students of HSPH in matters concerning their education and welfare. Its members are elected representatives from each department or program that meet regularly to discuss issues and plan activities related to student life. The committee works with faculty and administration on school-wide issues, sponsors seminars and other education-related events, and plans social activities. In addition, one SCC member is appointed to serve on the Committee on Admissions and Degrees, and two members are appointed to serve on the Committee on Educational Policy.

Africa Health Student Forum at HSPH
The objectives of the Harvard School of Public Health African Health Forum are the following:
- To create an opportunity to discuss important issues affecting Africa in terms of health and development and bring them to the fore of academic and professional discourse within the Harvard community.
- To play an advocacy role where indicated to influence health policies and practices which are of concern in Africa and promote the health rights of people, especially vulnerable populations.
- To create an opportunity to be involved with people and institutions working in Africa.
These objectives may be achieved by planning internships and volunteer opportunities for people interested in working in Africa and by assisting in capacity-building in schools of public health & NGO’s.
HSPH Student AIDS Tank
AIDS TANK is a student group focused on Thinking, Action, Networking and Knowledge surrounding the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The mission of the AIDS TANK is to create an opportunity to discuss issues relevant to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, in particular, those that arise in developing countries and in resource poor settings; to create an opportunity to be involved with people and institutions working on similar issues and to synergize efforts in the Harvard community.

Asian Club for Students at HSPH
The mission of the Harvard School of Public Health Asian Club is to, within the school community, and whenever possible, outside its borders, to advance the public’s health through learning, discovery and communication; facilitate diversity through cross-cultural interactive learning between Asian and non-Asian students, alumni, faculty and community; provide a supportive and engaging environment for international students; and organize social and community-based activities, build lasting friendships, and have fun.

Black Students Health Organization at HSPH
The Black Student Heath Organization (BSHO) is a student run organization welcoming participation by students, alumni, faculty, staff and administration within the Harvard School of Public Health. Members have interest in health issues affecting black persons throughout the African Diaspora. Our mission includes the provision of community service and the improvement of student life at HSPH. In the pursuit of our objectives we will collaborate with community leaders, faculty, staff, administration and other student groups at HSPH, as well as launching independent initiatives.

HSPH Chinese Student and Scholar Association
China has many interesting traditions, and the Chinese Culture Club organizes activities for students to learn more about Chinese culture, and by communion learn the different world cultures at Harvard School of Public Health. The Chinese Cultural Club helps Chinese students who are new to the United States to adapt, and also focuses on the public health situation in China, holding discussions among faculty and students.The Environmental Health Student Club at HSPH
The Environmental Health Student Club at HSPH has been established to provide the Harvard community with an open forum, specifically to facilitate the discussion of Environmental Health issues. This includes debates, speakers and panels on issues of environmental problems and their linkages to human health, and the science behind these linkages – along with policy, law and economic instruments to help reduce/avoid the damage caused by these environmental problems. The discussions highlight the application of science and implications of these instruments in the occupational environment, advances in occupational medicine, environmental controversies or other topics that the membership and officers deem pertinent.

Christian Student Fellowship at HSPH
The mission of the HSPH Christian Fellowship (HSPHHCP) is to bring people together at HSPH into a community who desire to know God. We want to develop our potential as public health leaders in the Christian faith and provide an open environment to explore God's truth. We seek to love the Lord Jesus Christ with our heart, soul and mind and desire to show His love to others in tangible ways through activities at the School of Public Health and in the community.

HSPH Student Dance Club
The mission of the Student Dance Club at HSPH is to provide an opportunity for dance-loving students at HSPH for the following: to learn and practice the skills of various kinds of dance, to develop and enjoy the art of dance, to demonstrate the beauty of dance, to promote understanding of different dance cultures, and to choose a dynamic lifestyle and balance life and study.

The Health in Practice Student Organization of the Harvard School of Public Health
Health in Practice brings global health work to public health students. To do this, we host global health practitioners in an informal setting to speak candidly about their experiences in the field. We strive to complement students’ theoretical learning with opportunities to hear and interact with practitioners.

Health Policy Forum of HSPH Students
The HSPH Health Policy Forum was established to provide the Harvard community with an open forum specifically to facilitate the discussion of United States domestic health policy issues. This includes debates, speakers, and panels on issues of domestic health care management and economics, health insurance for the underserved or uninsurable, health care reform, tort reform, immigration and cross-cultural medicine, alternative medicine and medical practice controversies, or other topics that the membership and officers deem pertinent to the membership.

HSPH Student Club of Japan
The HSPH Student Club of Japan is a student run organization that is participated by students, fellows, faculty, staff and alumni who might be Japanese or non-Japanese and who are/were affiliated with the Harvard School of Public Health. The Club's goal is to increase awareness and the understanding of not only the Japanese public health but also other characteristics such as cultures. The objectives of the Club of Japan are (1) to have seminars on Japanese public health issues by faculties, fellows or students, (2) to research the link between lifestyle and public health and to compare the difference of these between U.S. and Japan, (3) to support the development of the (official) HSPH Japanese alumni organization.

Jewish Student Association at HSPH
The Jewish Student Association strives to bring together students interested in exploring issues of interest to the Jewish community, in celebrating Jewish festivals and in learning from one another. The group hopes to foster a social atmosphere and a sense of community around Jewish culture and education by sponsoring events for HSPH students and by participating in university-wide programs. The HSPH Jewish Student Association is affiliated with CHAI, Harvard's university-wide Jewish Graduate Student Association of Harvard Hillel. Activities hosted by the HSPH Jewish Student Association and by CHAI are open to everyone.

Korean Students Group at HSPH
The Korean Student Group at HSPH is a non-profit student group that will to provide a platform for active communication among Korean students and students interested in Korean culture within the HSPH community. It exists to serve the interests of the members through academic and social networking events.

HSPH Students for Latin American Caribbean Health
LAC Health is a student organization aimed at promoting, analyzing and resolving health problems affecting Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The organization's objective's are the following: 1) To increase awareness of the Harvard community of health problems affecting the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean; 2) To promote healthy practices and give exposure to successful health programs unique to LAC; 3) To create an arena for raising concerns and discussing issues about public health problems and policies with experts from LAC; 4) To create an informal setting/environment for all students interested in making LAC a healthier place to share experiences, ideas and concerns with fellow students and faculty.

HSPH Student Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Association (LGBTA)
LGBTA was founded on National Coming Out Day, October 11, 1987. It is an organization composed of HSPH students, faculty, and staff that provide support and space for interaction with other lesbians, gay men, and bisexual and transgendered men and women. The group also works to educate themselves and the HSPH community about public health issues as they relate to gay and bisexual people, and other issues that affect our community. Meetings and events are open to everyone; confidentiality of attendance and mailing lists are respected.

HSPH Student Mental Health Group
The HSPH Mental Health Group is a student organization that strives to provide a supportive environment for students whose interests are in mental health. Using this organization as a foundation, students may gather to learn from and contribute to each other's learning in the field of mental health at HSPH. The group intends to contribute to the HSPH community by promoting awareness of mental health by fostering intellectual discussion and stimulating thought on the varied areas of mental health. Group membership is open to all students at HSPH who may view the group as an opportunity to interact with colleagues with diverse backgrounds in mental health. The group also invites participation in activities from students and faculty from other Harvard graduate schools and the College, as well as the wider community.

Middle East Students Group
The goal of the Middle East Student Group is to share information and promote communication and awareness on topics related to public health in the Middle East. This geographic region encompasses a number of heterogeneous countries that face unique and complex development and public health issues. All HSPH students interested in topics related to the Middle East are invited to join the group. We aim to host speakers from academic and public health institutions working at both regional, national, and international levels, as well as researchers on the Middle East who are based in U.S. institutions. We also plan to organize student events to share the diverse and the common cultures of the region through film, food, music, dance, and other traditional activities.

Muslim Student Group
The Muslim Student Group's goals are: (1) to raise awareness about public health issues in the Muslim World; (2) to provide an Islamic environment for members to practice Islam as a way of life; and (3) to assist the broader community at HSPH with their spiritual, social, and intellectual endeavors.

HSPH Student Society for Pharmacoepidemiology, Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research
The Student Society for Pharmacoepidemiology, Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR-HSPH) is a student organization affiliated with the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). It strives to:- Provide an environment where students can share knowledge in pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research.
- Serve as a bridge in bringing together students interested in pharmacoeconomics and members of the pharmaceutical industry, health-related organizations, and academia.
- Act as a resource for new students interested in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research.
- Provide an opportunity for student chapter members to become familiar with the affairs of ISPOR as well as have representation in its affairs.
HSPH 'Pre-Solstice' Toastmasters Club
The objective of the Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and
positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to
develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster
self-confidence and personal growth. Membership in the club at HSPH is open to
any interested HSPH affiliated student and faculty members.

Student for Reproductive Health and Rights at HSPH
The purpose of the Student Group for Reproductive Health and Rights (SGRHR) is to provide a forum for discourse on reproductive health and rights at Harvard School of Public Health and increase awareness, advocacy and action at HSPH and beyond (included but not limited to the greater Harvard and Boston Communities) around issues of international and domestic health and human rights.

HSPH Student Chapter for the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (HSPH SACNAS)
The mission of SACNAS is to encourage Chicano/Latino, Native American and other underrepresented minority students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for research careers and science-teaching professions at all levels. Our student chapter will function to promote the mission of SACNAS and offer educational and professional development resources and opportunities to students of Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Dental Medicine, and Harvard Medical School.

HSPH Student Spanish Speaking Committee
The HSPH Student Spanish Speaking Organization is an organization of students, alumni, faculty and staff within the Harvard community with an interest in the Spanish language. This is primarily a social organization that seeks to bring together native-speakers and individuals seeking to practice their Spanish language skills in a friendly and relaxed environment. The group meets regularly within the HSPH campus to share Spanish and Latin American music, food and culture. The group also provides information on events that may interest the Spanish-speaking community within Harvard University and the Boston area and acts on behalf of Spanish-speaking students at HSPH in matters concerning their education and welfare.
