ROLE OF THE OFFICE OF STUDENT FINANCIAL SERVICES
The role of the OSFS is to offer assistance to students and applicants in financing their education. A majority of aid available to students is in the form of federal student loans; therefore debt management counseling is considered an area of prime concern. The staff is committed to providing students with the information needed to make informed decisions about financing their HSPH education.
The OSFS works with academic departments in coordinating departmental funding with federal student loans. In addition, the OSFS assists departments in processing student tuition and stipend awards. Due to limited resources the school cannot always meet the full financial need of students. Loans and limited grants are offered to supplement personal resources.
The OSFS also works with students regarding the basics of their term bills, the refund process, and financial clearance as it relates to registration and graduation.
