A limited number of training and research grants, institutional funds, and teaching/research assistantships in varying amounts are available through departments and degree programs. While the OSFS processes these grants, information regarding amounts, application procedures, and notification and timing of awards should be directed to the academic department or degree program. Because some departments and programs establish need as a requirement and some do not, the OSFS recommends that students complete the financial aid process. Applicants given verbal offers of funding by departments should request confirmation in writing. Unless otherwise specified, renewals of funding for subsequent years may not be guaranteed. If a student changes from full- to part-time status, the funding level may be adjusted to reflect the new status.
