SCHOOL-WIDE SCHOLARSHIPS
Harvard School of Public Health scholarships come from a variety of sources including endowed (named) funds and gifts from generous donors, as well as school funds earmarked for financial aid. Merit, financial need, and donor restrictions are the criteria used in determining student eligibility.
There is no special application process for these scholarships. All INCOMING degree students (except summer degree students) who apply to HSPH for financial aid within the priority filing date are eligible for school-wide consideration.
PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
The Presidential Scholars Program is an initiative funded by the President's Office to enable talented and financially-needy masters and doctoral students across the university who wish to pursue careers in public service the ability to attend Harvard. The School of Public Health will use this to do the following:
- Recruit and retain the highest quality doctoral students who are financially needy, especially underrepresented minorities and students from developing countries who are enrolling in the departments of Epidemiology, Society, Human Development and Health, and Population and International Health.
- Recruit and retain the highest quality masters students who are financially needy especially underrepresented minorities and students from developing countries who are enrolling in the departments of Biostatistics, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Society, Human Development and Health, and Population and International Health.
There is no special application process for these scholarships. All INCOMING degree students (except summer degree students) who apply to HSPH for financial aid are eligible for Presidential Scholarship consideration. Awardees will receive full tuition scholarships for the length of the program.
DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS - new in 2008-2009
Incoming Doctor of Science (ScD) and Doctor of Public Health (DPH) students ranked by their departments in the top tier academically will be fully funded up to five years (length of time dependent on whether student has a previous HSPH masters degree).
There is no special application process for these scholarships. All INCOMING doctoral students who apply to HSPH for admission are reviewed for consideration.
