There is no special application process for these scholarships. All INCOMING degree students who are eligible to apply for Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health financial aid and who apply within the priority filing date are eligible for the scholarships listed below.
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health scholarships come from a variety of sources including endowed (named) funds and gifts from generous donors, as well as school funds earmarked for financial aid. Merit, financial need, and donor restrictions are the criteria used in determining student eligibility.
The Presidential Scholars Program is an initiative funded by the President’s Office to enable talented and financially-needy masters and doctoral students across the university who wish to pursue careers in public service the ability to attend Harvard. The Harvard Chan School will use this to recruit and retain the highest quality students who are financially needy, especially under-served domestic populations and students from developing countries.
Students in the following programs will be considered:
- Master of Public Health (MPH) students
- Doctor of Science (SD) students who are enrolling in the departments of Epidemiology, Global Health and Population, and Society, Human Development and Health.
- Master of Science (SM) students (42.5, 60 and 80 credits) who are enrolling in the departments of Biostatistics, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Global Health and Population, and Society, Human Development and Health.
Approximately one third of incoming Doctor of Science (SD) students determined by their academic departments will receive funding to cover tuition for the first and second years of their program.
Doctoral Scholarships for Mexican Students
We are pleased to announce an agreement signed March 3rd, 2011 between the HARVARD T.H CHAN SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH, CONACYT, and Fundación México en Harvard to provide funding for Mexican students enrolling in doctoral programs.
Features of this agreement are targeted specifically for Mexican candidates accepted to the Doctoral of Science (SD) degrees at the Harvard Chan School and will be effective for the academic period commencing August 2011. Scholarship support will cover 100% of the cost of these programs for Mexican students throughout the duration of their studies.

The doctoral programs offered by the Harvard Chan School are designed for students with interests in the scientific basis of public health and preventive medicine who wish to pursue academic or research positions. Please consult the website at Harvard for more information regarding these programs.
The agreement allows up to seven students from Mexico to be fully supported under the terms of this agreement. Students who have been admitted will be notified of the details and requirements to finalize their funding.
