Anna Sara Oberg

Dr Anna Sara Oberg is an adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, with primary affiliation in the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet. Interested in the causes and consequences of reproductive challenges, her research spans across the whole the range of sensitive periods from pre-conception through pregnancy up to labour and delivery, and concerns the health of both mother and child. Current efforts center on the safety of assisted reproductive practices, through long-term evaluations of children, and more recently the influence on women's cardiovascular health. Dr Oberg is additionally leading an effort to enable and improve the use of national registers to study prescribed drug use in relation to reproduction, through a new extensive linkage and advanced methods of data extraction that will allow more detailed exposure characterisation. As the first curriculum fellow in the online/on-campus MPH in Epidemiology Dr Oberg was closely involved in the program development and launch in 2015, and she has since continued to contribute as an instructor in Analytic Methods for Epidemiologists and as a member on the Practicum Committee.
