The Opening Session will take place on Sunday, November 8, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will open the meeting. Speakers include Administrator Lisa Jackson of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); Mirta Roses Periago, Director of the Pan American Health Organization; and Céline Cousteau, daughter of ocean explorer and filmmaker Jean-Michel Cousteau and granddaughter of Jacques Cousteau.
The Closing Session will be on Wednesday, November 11, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. This session will be a panel discussion of "Generation Public Health: Becoming a Healthier Nation." Speakers include Howard Koh, 14th Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Professor of the Practice of Public Health at HSPH; Yvette Roubideaux, member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, South Dakota, Director of the Indian Health Service, and HSPH alumna; and Mary Wakefield, Administrator of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
HSPH Professor Vish Viswanath will receive the Mayhew DerryBerry Award at this year's meeting. The award is given for outstanding contributions to health education research and theory.
