Deans Settle into Expanded Roles

The start of the new year marked the promotion of two deans who have begun to settle into their expanded roles. Associate Deans John Lichten and Paul Riccardi have been promoted to dean for administration and finance and dean for administration and operations, respectively. The positions resulted from a reorganization after Richard Cannon retired as dean for administration. Cannon worked in his role as dean for 11 years.

Lichten and Riccardi's new roles include their former responsibilities plus added components of Cannon's position. Lichten had been in charge of financial administration and now will also administer human resources. He will manage research administration and oversee administrative computing applications in some parts of the school. Riccardi will continue to supervise facilities planning, construction management, and administrative services, but now will also oversee information technology and instructional computing areas.
