Exams and Defenses

Pamela Robin Dziuban will take her oral examination for a doctoral degree in the Departments of Environmental Health and Health Policy and Management on April 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis conference room, 718 Huntington Avenue. Major fields: environmental health science and risk and decision science; minor field: public policy and law. John Graham will chair the examination committee.

Bernardo Hernandez, doctoral student in the Department of Health and Social Behavior, will present his thesis, "Diet, Activity, and Obesity in Mexican Children," on April 22 at 12:00 p.m. in Kresge 315.

Philip Armstrong, doctoral student in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases, will present his thesis, "Pathogen Diversity at the Tick-Human Interface," on April 24 at 10:00 a.m. in SPH I-717.

Lois Chandler Howland, doctoral student in the Department of Maternal and Child Health, will present her thesis, "Quality of Life, Stress, and Immune Function in Children with HIV Infection," on April 27 at 10:00 a.m. in Kresge 209.

Jennifer Fine, doctoral student in the Department of Health and Social Behavior, will present her thesis, "Obesity: Cost to Society and Burden to the Individual," on April 28 at 1:00 p.m. in FXB G-13.

Lisa Beth Signorello, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will present her thesis, "Endocrine Factors in the Etiology of Prostate Cancer and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia," on April 28 at 2:00 p.m. in Kresge 904.

Audiey Kao, doctoral student in the PhD Program in Health Policy, will present his thesis, "Trust and Agency: The Patient-Physician Relationship in the Era of Managed Care," on April 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Taubman 401, KSG, 79 J.F. Kennedy Street, Cambridge.

Cary Perry will take her oral examination for a doctoral degree in the Department of Health and Social Behavior on April 29 at 2:00 p.m. in Kresge 315. Major field: program design and planned social change; minor fields: research and evaluation methods and maternal and child health. Lisa Berkman will chair the examination committee.

Kari Bohlke, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will present her thesis, "Diet, Endogenous Hormones, and Breast Cancer," on April 30 at 2:00 p.m. in Kresge 904.

Edmond Shenassa will take his oral examination for a doctoral degree in the Departments of Epidemiology and Maternal and Child Health on April 30 at 3:00 p.m. in Kresge 315. Major fields: epidemiology and maternal and child health; minor field: biostatistics. Felton Earls will chair the examination committee.

Kuei-Ling Belinda Chen, doctoral student in the Department of Environmental Health, will present her thesis, "Toenail Arsenic Measurement for Epidemiologic Studies," on May 1 at 3:00 p.m. in SPH I-1301.
