Take Our Daughters to Work Day
Take Our Daughters to Work Day is a nation-wide event sponsored by the Ms. Foundation for Women and observed at HSPH each year. This year, April 23 is the day that students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to bring their daughters or other young women in their lives to join them for a day at the school. The intent is to provide opportunities for girls and young women to learn more about careers and to meet and observe successful role models. A panel of student speakers will convene at 12:30 p.m. in Kresge G-2 to share their insights and experiences about being a woman in the field of public health. Titled "Voices from Women in the Field," the panel will include Gillian Barclay, doctoral student in the Department of Health and Social Behavior; Susan Garfield, master's student in the Department of Health Policy and Management; Tonya Nyagiro, master's student in the Department of Population and International Health; Lysiane Ribeiro, a master of public health student; and Yeemay Su, a master's student in the Department of Health and Social Behavior. Following the presentations, a pizza lunch will be served. The event is cosponsored by the Career Services and Human
Resources Offices, and the Women in Public Health student group.
Those planning to attend the lunchtime event are urged to RSVP to
432-1046.
