The inaugural Julius B. Richmond Lecture was held on November 21 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and featured a presentation by Donna Shalala, US Secretrary of Health and Human Services. The lectureship has been established by the Division of Public Health Practice, whose director, Deborah Prothrow-Stith, described it as an opportunity "to honor our esteemed colleague, Julius Richmond, for his outstanding work and the generation of practitioners that he has inspired." Richmond is professor of health policy emeritus at HSPH. Above, Shalala speaking
