Exams and Defenses
Mary Elizabeth Blackwell, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, will present her thesis, "Random Effects Latent Variable Models for Multivariate Ordinal Bioassays," on March 3 at 10:00 a.m. in SPH II-426.
Helen Parise, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, will present her thesis, "Semiparametric Smoothing Methods for the Analysis of Animal Carcinogenicity Experiments," on March 3 at 1:30 p.m. in SPH II-426.
Yu-Sheng Lin will take his oral qualifying exam for a doctoral degree in the Department of Environmental Health on March 5 at 9:30 a.m. in SPH I-1408. Major: industrial hygiene; minor fields: environmental physiology and biostatistics. Karl Kelsey will chair the examination committee.
Hideki Hashimoto, doctoral student in the Department of Health and
Social Behavior, will present his thesis, "Communication Between
Patients with Chronic Illness and Their Physicians: Quantitative and
Qualitative Analysis on What Shared Conversation Will Do," on March 5 at
1:00 p.m. in Kresge 507.
