Harvard Center Reports On Children's Health Care Delivery
Researchers from the Harvard Center for Children's Health, collaborating with the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, have taken a comprehensive look at health delivery to US children. The results, recently published, represent the first update of this type of data in over a decade.
Marie McCormick, Sumner and Esther Feldberg professor of maternal and child health and director of the Harvard Center for Children's Health, was lead author of the report. Major findings include:

report, which was published in a special supplement of Pediatrics
on January 10, entitled the Journal of the Ambulatory Pediatric
Care Association, is the first in a series of annual reports on
how children and youth receive health care in the US. According to McCormick,
the reports are intended "to provide timely information in this
era of rapid changes in the health care system. We hope that this series
of reports will stimulate new research using these data to understand
the situation facing children, a situation that differs in many ways
from that of adults.
"We also hope that these reports will serve as a basis for advocacy to improve access to health care for children," she added.
