HSPH and Coalition Publish Hair-Care Information for Black Women Who Exercise

Sisters Together, a partnership of HSPH and eighteen community organizations in Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan, has published Hair Care Tips for Sisters on the Move: Looking Fit & Feeling Fine.

Concern about their hair holds many women back from exercising. A first of its kind, this booklet offers advice for black women who want to be more physically active and tips for caring for natural and relaxed hair worn in a variety of styles.

At HSPH, those involved with Sisters Together include Rima Rudd, lecturer in the Department of Health and Social Behavior, together with staff members Luzy Zahner and Daina King, and many students. For more information, contact the Sisters Together office at 432-2048.
