Ice Cream Party to Reward HSPH for Bike Challenge

HSPH was officially recognized as the winner in its size category of the Cycle 2000 Corporate Challenge during a recent ceremony at City Hall.

The Second Annual Corporate Challenge was a friendly competition to see which Boston area businesses could get the most employees and students to commit to bike to work or school during National Bike Week from May 14 to 20. The challenge was sponsored by the Boston-area Transportation Management Association.

Businesses and institutions were split into five different categories based on their total number of employees and received points for each employee/student who registered and bonus points for providing "bike-friendly" amenities onsite--such as secure racks, showers and changing facilities, and safety programs. HSPH won for the second year in a row in the category of a business or institution with between 500 and 2,500 employees.

The reward for the win is a Ben & Jerry's ice cream party TODAY, July 21, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. outside FXB.
