Conference to Address Quality of Health Care in Age of Consumerism

HSPH faculty members and invited speakers will discuss quality of care in the era of consumerism at a conference at the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston from November 15 to 17.

R. Heather Palmer, director of the Center for Quality of Care Research and Education, and Arnold Epstein, chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management, will chair the event. Speakers include Charles Baker, president and CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care; Robert Blendon, professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management; Susan Edgman-Levitan, president of The Picker Institute; John Eisenberg, administrator at AHRQ; Woodrin Grossman, chair at PricewaterhouseCoopers; Kenneth Kizer, president and CEO of the National Forum for Healthcare Quality; and others.

The speakers, "break-out" sessions, and a panel will address recent changes in health care delivery, the role of consumers in health care and patient data confidentiality.
