Enrollment Services to Unveil Two Revamped Websites

The Office of Enrollment Services will launch two revised websites to make it easier for students to find out about the school, apply for admission and financial aid, and register for classes.

A revamped website packed with information and downloadable forms for admissions, registration, and financial services is expected to launch on September 5 at www.hsph.harvard.edu/enrollment. The site features information on tuition and fees, course schedules, doctoral student resources, course evaluations, external financial aid sources, and degree programs. The entire student handbookindexed and searchablewill be available online. Students will also be able to apply to the school through the site as well as request that recommendations be submitted electronically. The new enrollment services site will be the basis for future expanded use of web technologies that will minimize the time students spend on administrative matters.

The second website will allow students to register for classes online. In the past, students could only register electronically through computers at the school. The new site is web-based and therefore available to anyone who has access to the Internet. The online registration website is expected to be available to students on September 11.

The redesigns are part of an initiative undertaken by Stan Hudson, assistant dean for enrollment services, to ease and expand student services. Hudson oversaw a similar streamlining of enrollment services at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which he left last spring to join HSPH.

"The motivation was to create a coherent site that was easily accessible so you would know where to go to get the information you need," said Hudson.

Said newly appointed registrar Joann Wilson-Singleton, "Stan has a clear vision of enhancing the student services we offer."
