We utilize comprehensive advanced tools to identify the effects of environmental exposures and risk factors on human tissues. We use pyrosequencing to accurately measure the levels of DNA methylation at or nearby candidate genes. Our real-time PCR facility is dedicated to evaluating molecular features that can be modified by environmental challenges, including mitochondrial DNA copy number and oxidation, histone modifications, microRNA and mRNA expression, and telomere length. We employ state-of-art genome-wide epigenomics technology to conduct unbiased screen of DNA methylation in relation to both environmental exposures and disease states.
