Tshedimoso Study
The Tshedimoso Study (“Tshedimoso” means “to reveal new information” in Setswana) is being conducted to better understand how the body fights HIV-1 from the very beginning of infection. The results may provide knowledge on how to control virus, and may lead to the design of an effective HIV-1C vaccine for southern Africa

The Tshedimoso Study, conducted at BHP’s four Mashi Study Sites, plans to enrol about 100 individuals with evidence of recent HIV infection, following each participant closely for 1 year. The Tshedimoso Study is sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (a division of the National Institutes of Health) and is led by Harvard School of Public Health researcher Dr. Vlad Novitsky and locally coordinated by Dr. Carolyn Wester.
