- Virology and immunology teams – a major effort to recruit and expand the virology and immunology faculty at the School, with a particular focus on vaccine development and influenza.

- Defeating Malaria: From the Genes to the Globe – a recently-launched program in partnership with the United Nations Special Envoy for Malaria that builds interdisciplinary efforts across Harvard to help create a malaria-free world. The program focuses on achieving real progress in malaria research, leadership development, education, and knowledge.

- Mapping Health Laboratory – a “core” service at HSPH to be shared by all departments within the School, to use GIS and other advanced mapping technologies to develop databases for environmental assessment and spatial modeling of exposures and health effects.
