Welcome to the Center
Welcome to the Center for Continuing Professional Education website at the Harvard School of Public Health.
For more than two decades, our executive education, training programs, and conferences have earned a reputation among mid- and senior-level health professionals as the place where theory informs practice and practice informs theory.
The Center offers a variety of programs in a number of formats: executive courses, seminars, conferences, customized courses, off-site programs, grant-funded projects, and self-study projects. Faculty are drawn predominantly from the Harvard University system, complemented by a cadre of talented practitioner instructors.
Many programs feature the Harvard case method of instruction, taught in a Socratic-style format, which facilitates practical application of concepts and creates a dynamic forum for the exchange of insights and experiences.
This is certainly an exciting, as well as challenging, time to be a health care professional. On behalf of the Harvard School of Public Health, I'm pleased to welcome newcomers to our rich array of continuing professional programs. And, to those of you who have already participated in the Center's offerings — welcome back!

Corporate Associates Program
Survey data show that growth companies that utilize the expertise and resources of universities boast productivity rates that are 59 percent higher than their peer institutions. Putting this information to use, PriceWaterhouseCoopers is one of six companies that recently became charter members of the Corporate Associates Program sponsored by the Center.
For organizations interested in establishing an alliance with HSPH above and beyond our traditional and custom-designed programs, the Center for Continuing Professional Education offers a Corporate Associates Program. The Corporate Associates Program is dedicated to enabling leading companies to utilize the rich research and education resources available at HSPH. As a Corporate Associate, your organization will have the opportunity to access the faculty, research centers, students, executive education and special programs available at HSPH.
Please contact us at the Center for Continuing Professional Education to find out more about the Corporate Associates Program.

Proper Attire
We want you to be comfortable while you are here, so we recommend business-casual attire. We also recommend dressing in layers, since the classrooms tend to be cooler in the morning and warmer in the afternoon. Some programs include receptions or dinners and more formal attire may be appropriate in these cases. Business- or eveningwear is suggested.
Travel/Accommodations
Harvard does not have accommodation facilities for program participants. For each program, rooms are reserved for program participants at a reduced rate at a designated hotel, as specified in the brochure. Rooms are held for up to 30 days prior to a program, so reserving early is recommended. You are not required to stay at that hotel. If you would like to stay somewhere else, you can choose from the wide variety of hotels, motels, bed-and-breakfasts, and inns available to visitors in Boston. Since Boston is a popular convention and vacation destination, we strongly encourage you to make hotel reservations as soon as you are registered for a program.
Please visit the official site of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism for more information on accommodations. For in-depth information on restaurants and events, please visit Boston.com.
Other Transportation
Another mode of transportation available to participants is the Amtrak "Acela Express" Train. Acela Express now runs 8 times a day from Boston to New York City and all points in between. Acela Express has also expanded its service to 10 times a day from Washington D.C. to New York City and all points in between, including Philadelphia. In addition to Acela Express, Amtrak has other trains and departures to fit your travel needs.
