The 2009 China Senior Health Executive Education Program has two separated program focused differently on senior government officials and senior healthcare executives.
The program for senior government officials was conducted on June 15 – July 3, 2009. There are 29 participants from different national and provincial government and medical department, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, National Development and Reform Commission, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and health bureaus of 10 provinces.
Early this year, the Chinese central governement launched a comprehensive health care reform plan, which targeted to develop a universal health care insurance for 1.3 billion Chinese people. Students of the EXT program discussed extensively on strategies and methods to achieve the goals in China. They are also divided in sub-groups to analyze the key health issues of medical service, public health, health financing, essential drugs, and public hospital reform.
The program for senior healthcare executives was conducted on November 30 – December 18, 2009. Thirty one senior hospital executives from Shanghai, Guangdong Province and Jiangsu Province attended the program.
