The Harvard China Health Research seminar series is a set of weekly talks organized by Professors William Hsiao and Yuanli Liu, and has been ongoing since October 2010. These meetings provide an excellent opportunity for Harvard’s students, research fellows, visiting scholars and faculty to discuss their current or planned collaborative research projects regarding China’s major health and development issues.
The most recent meeting on April 4, 2013 featured two presentations: “The Reporting System of Infectious Disease in China” by Dr. Haitao Liu from the Chinese Ministry of Health, and “Developing a Comprehensive Framework for China’s Basic Health Insurance” by Professor Zhiguo Zhang from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. These talks featured presentations and subsequent in-depth discussions focused on the issues of infectious disease and comprehensive health insurance in China.
