Applying to the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Course

Please review the following information carefully.

Non-degree Applicants

Please note: Applicants who applied for a degree at HSPH in September 2012 and who were accepted are ineligible for this course. This course is only intended for non-degree students. However, once students complete the course, they may apply for a degree program at HSPH for the next application cycle. Students, who complete this course in June 2013, may apply for a degree in fall 2013. The earliest they will be able to become a degree students will be July 2014. Admission to, or academic performance in, this course does not guarantee admission into the School’s other full- and part- time academic degree programs, which requires a separate application.

The deadline for the application is February 1, 2013. Incomplete applications will not be considered for admission to this course.

The application for ID 207 will be available on the SOPHAS website in September 2012. There will be a SOPHAS fee of $120 for each application. Please review the information below on the application requirements.

Non-degree Applicant Instructions

  • Statement of Intent
    Describe your interest in public health, your reason for applying to the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics course, and your career plans. The statement should be typed, double-spaced, and no more than 500 words.
  • Transcripts
    Submit transcripts from each post-secondary institution from where applicants received a degree. The SOPHAS application process requires that applicants enter grade information for each of the transcripts they submit. However, non-degree applicants may override this requirement by following the detailed instructions described in the Transcript Abbreviation Form.
    If an academic institution does not provide transcripts, the registrar of the school may submit remarks, rank in class, position in examinations, course curriculum, and so forth in place of a transcript. If an institution does not keep records in English, the transcript must be translated into English. Copies of diplomas are not accepted in place of transcripts.
