The Cyprus International Institute for the Environment and Public Health (CII) in Association with Harvard School of Public Health is seeking to fill out a position at the Research Fellow level for a period of one year starting October 1st, 2005 in Cyprus. Applicants should have either a Medical Degree (MD), or a master's or doctoral degree in Public Health (MPH, Dr. PH) or a relevant biomedical field (Epidemiology etc). The successful applicant should have a strong interest in being involved with several research projects at CII. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Required Qualifications

Academic Assistant

Job Opening Code: CII / Academic Assistant - 090105

The Cyprus International Institute for the Environment and Public Health (CII) in Association with Harvard School of Public Health is seeking to fill an Academic Assistant position. The Academic Assistant will work in conjunction with the faculty and administration of the Institute. The Academic Assistant will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the advertisements and other academic related issues of the Institute's educational and research activities. The Academic Assistant must be able to multi-task and exercise considerable judgment and discretion in completing assignments. Examples of work performed may include a broad range of simple to complex responsibilities involving confidential or educational information, such as compiling research reports and proposals, furnishing information, scheduling meetings and preparing letters, agendas, responding to routine correspondence from students, researching background material, and responding to visitors and telephone calls. Applicants must be fluent in both Greek and English, possess outstanding etiquette and advanced computer skills. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Academic Administrator

CII seeks an Institute Administrator who will report to the Director and will work closely with the HCP Administration. Must be proficient in oral and written English and Greek. Requires 7-10 years of experience in management at academic and research institutions. Responsible for all aspects of administration including human resources (payroll, benefits, taxes, visa issues, etc.), finance and grants management, faculty and student services, as well as general administration. Requires ability to negotiate contracts with research sponsors to monitor grants, ensuring compliance with sponsors' regulations and policies. Creates and implements administrative systems. Will develop, train and supervise one or two administrative staff, as needed. Salary will be based on qualifications.
