Dr. A. R. Al Muhailan has a doctorate on exertion physiology from Texas Women's University and an Honorary Doctorate, Laws - Dalhousie University, Canada. He obtained his Master's degree in Science in 1977 - Sports Medicine, Indiana State University and Bachelor's degree in 1975, Physical Therapy, Ithaca College. He had been the Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for the State of Kuwait during the 1990s. As the founder and Chairman of Kadhema Scientific Consultancy Services (KSCS), a Kuwait based firm focusing on providing consultancy services in the fields of education, training, environment, health management and management of information systems. Currently KSCS is working in joint collaboration with Harvard School of Public Health, USA, on a large national health study to determine the consequences of stress on health. The study will also serve as a basis for Kuwait's Ministry of Health in establishing its future plans for the health care services. Currently, he is also the Chairman and CEO - Educational Holding Group, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors Eyas Higher Education & Tech. Training Co., Board Member-Direct Aid Assoc., Chairman of Board of Trustee - Gulf University for Science and Technology. His professional experience spans a period of thirty years and encompasses directorial management work in versatile sectors of medicine, health, environment, education and sports, apart from the aforementioned, some others are outlined below from early to date: Sports medicine specialist, Ministry of Health, Assoc. Professor in Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Kuwait University, Vice Dean of Administration, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and Nursing, Kuwait University, Dean - College of Health Science at Public Authority of Applied Education and Training, Deputy Director General of Public Authority of Applied Education and Training, Director General of Public Authority of Applied Education and Training, Scientific Consultant - Kuwait Establishment for Educational Services. He is/was Board member/member of many associations to name but a few - Supreme Board of Petroleum, Palm Agricultural Co., American College of Sports Medicine, American Physical Therapy Association, Arabian Volleyball Association, Medical Board, Asian/Arabian/Kuwait Football Medical Board, Editorial Board of Kuwait Medical Journal, Gulf Cooperative Council, Ministers of Health Cabinet, Environmental Protection Boards, Executive Board, WHO, Educational Board of English Newsletter, Vice chairman of Executive Board, WHO. He has been awarded - The World Health Organization Anti Smoking Award and Medal for 1996.
