Besides the master's and doctoral degree programs , the Department offers the following:

Program in Clinical Effectiveness

The Program in Clinical Effectiveness is designed for clinicians seeking the quantitative and analytical skills needed for clinical research. The program begins with an intensive seven-week, 15-credit summer program, which contains summer-long core courses in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics. All participants also select two half-summer courses from offerings in decision analysis, health services research, health care ethics, questionnaire development, and quality improvement of health care policy. For students with previous experience, second level courses are also offered in clinical epidemiology, survival analysis and in the principal of clinical trials.

Karolinska Exchange Program

Funding exists for exchange study and collaborative research in medical epidemiology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. This program, directed by Adjunct Professor Hans-Olov Adami, offers research opportunities in many fields of medical epidemiology, including (but not limited to) genetic, molecular, and cancer epidemiology. This program is restricted to advanced doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty.
