Alvin Tran is a Doctor of Science candidate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts. He is studying Public Health Nutrition and Social & Behavioral Sciences. His research interests include nutrition policy, obesity, chronic disease, and family health.

Alvin is a former Fellow in Health Policy Reporting for Kaiser Health News in Washington, D.C. While at KHN, he covered public health research and policy.

In 2012, Alvin was a Kaiser Family Foundation Media Intern at KQED Public Radio, an affiliate of National Public Radio (NPR) in San Francisco, California.

He received his MPH from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and his BS and BA from the University of Washington (UW). Alvin was the recipient of the UW Office of Multicultural Affairs Activism Award.
