"If you can RIP IT, you can RECYCLE IT!

These days any and all paper can be put into your blue bin paper recycling bin, including:

  • office paper (staples are not a problem)
  • colored paper
  • newspapers
  • magazines
  • catalogues
  • junk mail (even envelopes with plastic windows)
  • cardboard
  • paperboard
  • and pretty much any paper that does not have food on it!

DO NOT Recycle:

Paper coffee cups, paper plates, paper towels, or any paper with food or grease on it.

Co-Mingled (plastic, glass, aluminum)

Please recycle any soda or selzter bottles/cans (those that have a 5 cent deposit in MA) in the "5 Cent Deposit" recycling containers. The hard working custodial staff at HSPH redeem these bottles and cans and use the funds for an end of the year party.

All other plastic, metal, and glass can go into the "Co-mingled  Containers" recycling bins:

  • all beverage containers (glass, plastic and aluminum)
  • all plastics labeled #1-7 (look for the small triangle on the bottom of the container)
  • clean aluminum foil
  • clean salad containers (check for plastic #1-7)
  • juice containers, milk containers
  • and much more! Always check the bottom and please rinse out the container before recycling
  • NO STYROFOAM! (even if the container says "#6 plastic", if it is styrofoam it cannot be recycled)

DO NOT Recycle:

Styrofoam, coffee cups, or plastic bags.
