Watch the National Geographic Daily News video on Dr. Christopher Golden’s work on the connections between the environment and human health here.

Dr. Christopher Golden was recently named an Emerging Explorer by National Geographic magazine. Chris is a research associate in our Department of Environmental Health and visiting scientist in the Department of Nutrition here at HSPH, and was recently appointed director of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Health & Ecosystems: Analysis of Linkages (HEAL).

Golden has devoted his career as an ecologist and epidemiologist to studying the effects of global environmental trends on human health. In the magazine bio, Golden describes how a love of animals and nature developed at a young age fostered a career that has taken him on many adventures. “I think that connecting with natural environments is so important. I do my best thinking, innovation, and creation while lost in the woods,” Golden told National Geographic.
