Position Title:

Bunge Fellowship in Global Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention

 

Hours per Week or % FTE:

35 hours/week or 100% FTE

 

Required/Preferred Education, Experience, Skills:

Applicants must have a PhD/DrPH/ScD in epidemiology, nutrition, or equivalent degrees. An established track record of original, first-author, publications in epidemiology and/or nutrition is a must. Candidates should demonstrate established quantitative research skills, experience in programming and analysis of epidemiological data using SAS, STATA or other packaged programs, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and with collaborators.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

An outstanding candidate is sought to work on original research projects to study the dietary and nutritional determinants of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and diabetes in countries worldwide.

 

The research program and training will be directed by Dariush Mozaffarian, a cardiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, co-Director of the Program in Cardiovascular Epidemiology, and Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH).

 

Major emphasis will be placed on leading original analyses and manuscripts; career development; and transition toward independent funding and an independent research career. The fellowship is for a two-year period, with renewal after the first year conditional on performance. The position is available starting March 1, 2014.  The ability to work in the US is required in order to apply for this position.
