Exercises and Drills

Full Scale

Simulations and Exercises are the cornerstone of our work. In the past 11 years, HSPH-EPREP has developed and led more than 85 exercises of both discussion and operations-based formats. Our experience includes providing workshops to conducting functional and full-scale exercises. Past exercises have covered the topics of:

  • Sheltering/Mass Care Evacuation
  • Mass Fatality Management
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Decontamination
  • Behavioral Health
  • Pandemic Outbreak
  • Burn Surge
  • Pediatric Emergency Preparedness
  • Hazardous Materials

Our exercises are realistic to the greatest extent possible, based on up-to-date knowledge of transmission dynamics, preventive measures efficacy, and health outcomes. We are committed to creating exercises that are multidisciplinary and relevant to representatives of public safety (fire, police, EMS), emergency management, government, and other community stakeholders. These exercises conform to standards set by the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), guidance from the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and the principles of the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
