ANN BACKUS

Ann Backus is Director of Outreach for the Harvard ERC and the Superfund Basic Research Program. She is responsible for the Visiting Scholars Program, a research seminar series with EPA, and for developing other pro-grams that improve the access of the public, policy-makers, academicians, and practicing professionals to concepts and current research findings in occupational and environmental health.

She is interested in management issues related to occupational safety and health and the resolution of workplace concerns through competent management of human resources. Her current work includes work with the Marine Safety Office of the US Coast Guard to reduce injury and death of fishermen. Her column FISH SAFE appears in the monthly Commercial Fisheries News.
