Assistant or Associate Professor of Genetic Epidemiology
The Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) seeks candidates for the position of assistant or associate professor of genetic epidemiology. This is a tenure-ladder position, with the academic rank to be determined in accordance with the successful candidate's experience and productivity. The successful candidate will play a central role in the department's program of teaching and research and may also have an appointment in the Department of Biostatistics.General emphasis in research will be on the design and analysis of population-based studies to establish the genetic causes of chronic disease and to elucidate gene-environment interactions. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program and to participate in collaborative research activities within the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and for student supervision, which will encompass the direction of doctoral students in dissertation research and student advising at the master's and doctoral levels.
The successful applicant will hold a doctoral degree in epidemiology, statistics, or another relevant area of public health, or will have a medical degree and formal training in epidemiology.
