Dr. Cai's current research interests are mainly in the area of survival data including clustered failure time data, doubly censored and interval censored data; semi-parametric ROC regression analysis, robust binary regression for optimally combining predictors, analysis of partial area under the curve with application to medical diagnosis; model checking and model selection.
In addition to her methdological research, Dr. Cai is also a collaborator in the Statistical and Data Analysis Center of the Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group. Her interests center on therapeutic vaccines for HIV.
